Wash the sweet potatoes and place them in the kakugama.
Lining the pot with cooking paper is convenient.

Cover with the lid and heat over very low heat for 1 hour.
Check for doneness by inserting a bamboo skewer.
Adjust the cooking time depending on the size and moisture content of the sweet potatoes. Thicker ones may take about 1 hour and 20 minutes.
